"Demeter's Prayer to Hades"
In this poem, Demeter addresses Hades, god of the Underworld. Although Demeter offers a “prayer” instead of a “curse,” she still attacks Hades with knowledge of her grief and his transgression. Read and analyze the poem on page 9 of your packet.
